Whether you’ve had to postpone your wedding during the worst days of the pandemic, or are just now beginning to plan it, the way your wedding will look is most likely different in a post-COVID world. From social distancing to PPE, our world has changed, and so too have special events. Here are some ways that you can expect your wedding to look a little different, and some tips for ensuring you and your guests have a safe event here at Tribeca Rooftop + 360° in NYC.

Food Service

Food service at your NYC special event is one of the main areas you will notice a difference in 2021. While buffets were popular options in the past, in the interest of staying safe, you may opt for waitstaff to provide table service to each of your guests, to limit the amount of people your food is exposed to. Waitstaff can be equipped with masks and gloves, and must pass a temperature check to work your event.

Fake Bake

The cake is arguably one of the most iconic decorations you can have at your wedding. But leaving it out where it can be exposed to lots of well-meaning guests before serving may make you nervous. For this reason, we recommend getting a second faux cake made that is an exact replica of your real cake. This can stay on display for your guests to admire, while your real cake stays behind the scenes with limited access. Then, when it’s time to cut the cake, your real cake can be brought out to be cut and served.

Another option is to keep the cake behind a velvet rope, set back from guests so that they can admire it from a bit further away.

Invitation Information

If your wedding is going to be socially distanced or if you plan on requiring vaccines, masks, or other PPE, make sure to include something in your invitations so your guests arrive prepared. While some may opt to not attend if they disagree with your policies, it is better to give them a heads up before they take the time to travel to your event.

Seating

While you definitely want your guests to mingle and meet new people, keeping families or those who reside in the same household together at the same table is a smart safety precaution. We can also help you space your tables 6’ feet apart to comply with CDC recommendations. This way guests will have the maximum protection and they can still mingle with others by choice when not seated.
